How much experience do you need?
The experience double standard.
For the first 10 years of my career, I was often told: I didn’t have enough experience.
Well, we all have to start somewhere.
Now that I'm almost 20 years in, I'm sure the opposite will happen.
“You’re overqualified.”
“You’ve been doing this too long.”
It’s funny how quickly the narrative shifts.
You’re not too “old” or “young” for anything.
Your value is in your skill, perspective, and ability (not an arbitrary number).
So the next time someone tries to box you in because of years, remind yourself: it’s your capability that counts.
Reach out if this resonated with you.
